Common Questions

If something isn't working the way you expect, chances are the answer is here.

Can I upload documents by pasting them into the chat?

No. All uploads go through email to upload@inbound.thadapp.com. This ensures proper processing and metadata extraction. See Uploading Documents.

What types of documents can ThAD manage?

Sermons, articles, pastoral letters, bible studies, forum posts, class materials, and other written works.

How long before my uploaded document appears in searches?

Documents are typically processed and available within a few minutes of upload.

Can ThAD access documents from other users?

No. Each user's archive is completely separate. ThAD only searches your documents.

What if ThAD gets something wrong about my sermon?

ThAD pulls from your actual document metadata — if something looks off, the source document may need re-uploading. If you're troubleshooting, you can ask ThAD to show the debug info.

Is ThAD connected to the internet?

ThAD can access your document archive, the Revised Common Lectionary, and the Bible, and it can search the internet for anything online whenever you ask. It does not have access to research databases or sites that require a subscription or login.

Do I use ThAD differently on ChatGPT and Claude?

Only at the start. On ChatGPT you open your ThAD Custom GPT; on Claude you invoke the ThAD connector from any conversation. Everything after that — searching, briefings, writing, uploading — works the same. See Getting Started on ChatGPT or Getting Started on Claude.

I still need help. Who do I contact?

Email us at info@thadapp.com and we'll point you in the right direction.
